Analyzes biological specimens integrating instrument operation, maintenance, control/calibration with patient data and test results to provide accurate, reliable and timely information for preventing, diagnosing or treating disease; ensures compliance with QC and QA programs to effect the highest quality patient care; offers technical support to patient care providers; and teaches students and new employees.
QUALIFICATIONS
Certified as a Medical Technologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists
- ASCP, National Certification Agency
- NCA, or Clinical Laboratory Technologists (Health Education and Welfare)
- CLT(HEW) or be a graduate of a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences
