Lab Technician III – US Position Available In Newton, Georgia

Job Description:

Let Volt Help You Move Forward Volt is immediately hiring for aLab Technician III for Covington, VA location. The LaboratoryTechnician is responsible for performing testing of pulp andpaperboard to ensure the mill meets quality specifications.

• Collecting samples in an industrial setting, such as the following:o Stock & Additives (stock samples) o Finished product(Paper/paperboard)
• Perform analyses using instruments in theonsite laboratory. Analysis includes bacterial testing, and otherinternal process analyses.
• Entering analytical results in adatabase or spreadsheet for reporting; perform data analysis
• Maintain proper housekeeping in the laboratory
• Ensuring thatlaboratory instruments have proper preventative maintenance andcare.
• Checking that laboratory chemical inventory is adequate.
• Adherence to all mill safety rules, participates in safety programsand meetings with the goal of improving safety at the mill This isa Full-Time opportunity.

Shift Hours:

8am to 12pm. 5 days per weekwith at least one day either on Sat or Sunday.

The ideal candidatewill have:

• Proficient computer skills (including MS Office, mostimportantly Excel and Microsoft Word).
• Willing and able to walkand work in an industrial location indoors or outdoors, includingwalking up and down steps with all safety equipment (hard hat,safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, steel-toed shoes, etc.)
• Highlyorganized/attentive to detail
• Excellent interpersonal skills towork effectively with subordinates, peers, managers and contractors
• Excellent communication skills – must be able to communicatequickly any unusual result or inspection finding
• Works withminimal supervision, detail and results oriented
• Safety mindset

Pay Rate:

$28.35/Hourly

• Pay range offered to a successfulcandidate will be based on several factors, including thecandidate’s education, work experience, work location, specific jobduties, certifications, etc.
