Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Lab Technician is to test and analyze oil-based lubricants and associated components. The Lab Tech must use internal procedures and ASTM methods, along with good laboratory technique, to analyze samples. The Lab Tech also performs SQC analysis, along with other quality checks, to ensure equipment is performing properly and that the results reported are accurate and representative of the sample. The Lab Technician must assist the Chemists in managing the samples that come in during the shift, and ensure they are properly analyzed in the correct priority, efficiently. This position is critical to the company as it ensures the quality of the fluid packaged/sold.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Work Safely by identifying workplace hazards and notifying Management of those hazards before performing a task. Follow all Company Safety Policies and Procedures. Participate/Actively be involved in Process/Job improvements and other Lean activities Participate in pre-shift safety/shift change meetings and complete required monthly safety training. Report all Safety accidents and incidents to the Laboratory Supervisor or other Management. Log and test samples Utilize testing equipment in accordance with internal procedures and ASTM methods, as required. Approve blend, inbound, outbound, and production samples utilizing obtained results and provided specifications. Maintain and properly control documents and documentation Complete specified reports, including Shift Reports, accurately & timely. Receive in supplies, documenting the receipt appropriately. Maintain a proper inventory of supplies Assist in ordering laboratory supplies & standards Utilize good laboratory practices and techniques including maintaining lab cleanliness Organize and store all chemical substances according to safety guidelines Validate and verify instruments are functioning properly and providing accurate results Work within the team to complete tasks and achieve Departmental goals. Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent (Required) Some college coursework preferred Experience working in a QC Laboratory preferred
Physical Requirements:
Must be willing to work all three shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed, along with overtime Ability to be mobile for extended periods of time Ability to lift and pull up to 50 lbs. standards.
