Position Summary The School of Allied Health Professions at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans (LSUHSC-NO) seeks applications from qualified candidates for a full-time, 12-month clinical track faculty position to serve as an Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Medical Laboratory Science in the Department of Medical Laboratory Science (MLS). The department currently offers a Bachelor’s of Medical Laboratory Science degree, has a MLT to MLS articulation program, and offers categorical certifications in each of the major MLS fields. Primary responsibilities will be teaching core didactic and laboratory coursework in a well-established NAACLS accredited program, as well as participating in departmental activities such as accreditation, student admissions, instruction, student advising, and serve on school and university committees. Applicants must be ASCP certified, possess a current Louisiana laboratory science license or eligible for licensure, and at a minimum possess a Master’s degree. The candidate should have excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Preference will be given to applicants who have college or clinical teaching experience, demonstrate scholarly productivity, and have a record of active participation in professional societies.
