Monitors process variables, troubleshoots, and performs interventions to maintain operating performance. Performs routine assignments under general supervision. Gaining knowledge of work procedures and practices. Chevron Oronite Company, a division of Chevron USA, Inc., is accepting online applications for the position of Quality Control Laboratory Inspector located in Belle Chasse, Louisiana through July 9th, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time). This position is for a Laboratory Inspector at the Chevron Oronite Plant. Successful candidates will start as an Inspector Trainee and progress through an established training program to the position of Laboratory Inspector. The Inspector will perform a wide variety of physical and chemical tests for quality control of an oil and gas additives plant, including performance of analytical test methods, instrument troubleshooting and repair as required, and other general laboratory duties. Finished product, process, and incoming materials testing is the primary focus of this position. The Quality Control Department is also responsible for ensuring that samples meet all ASTM and Oronite Quality requirements. This position is union represented and works a 12-hour rotating schedule with weekend and holiday coverage, for a typical 14 of 28 days worked per month. The Lab operates 24 hours/day, 365 days/year, with some overtime required. Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: Performing a wide variety of tests on incoming materials and plant process and finished products. Test methods range from simple physical property tests to complex spectroscopic and chromatographic techniques. Learning and performing analytical test methods following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and ASTM test methods, in addition to other standards. Utilizing standard QA/QC practices to ensure accuracy and precision of results. Validating data, comparing results against specifications, performing calculations, and reporting test results. Checking and calibrating equipment and performing preventive or corrective maintenance as needed. Solving analytical problems. Identifying, reporting, and then supporting correction of product quality issues. Planning and organizing workload to optimize testing of product. Working in collaboration with all other Laboratory personnel and Laboratory Management. Working in collaboration with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other organizations. Always ensuring data integrity. Occasional operation of the Laboratory vehicle. Always working safely.

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent with three years of laboratory experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree in a Natural Science or Technology, including college chemistry. Valid Driver’s License. Able to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime. Problem-solving ability. Intermediate computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs. Ability to work in a safety sensitive position. Ability to acquire and maintain a TWIC card.

Preferred Qualifications:

Refinery/Chemical Plant analytical lab experience. Refinery/Chemical Plant Process Operations.
