Job Description:

Under the direct supervision of the Dean of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, the Part-Time (Temporary) Lab Technician is responsible for supporting the Laser Optics Technology program. The candidate will maintain the Laser Optics Technology Lab environment and equipment: Maintain a safe and proper operation in the lab.
Ensures utilization and proper maintenance of specialized learning equipment and materials. Ensures proper supplies are available.
Develops and maintains an inventory of equipment and restocks as needed.
Assist in obtaining tools and supplies when needed.
Assist faculty in carrying out moderately complex technical routines with minimal supervision or instruction.
Performs special projects and related responsibilities as initiated and requested. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Minimum of associate degree in Optics/Photonics or a related field. 5 years of experience in photonics, physics, engineering, electronics, or a related field. Industrial experience with photonics and/or electronics equipment preferred.
Hands-on experience with lab instrumentation, particularly in optics and electronics. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with faculty and students.
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
