We are currently seeking full-time, Accessioning Clerk/Specimen Processor to join our our team. The schedule is Monday – Friday, 2pm – 10:30pm.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Sign-in and receive packages from FedEx and samples from Couriers. Receive and properly identify samples and sites where tests are performed. Sort samples according to protocol. Perform initial data entry in LIS. Prepare samples for send-outs to reference laboratories. Record discrepancies and communicating these errors to Supervisor and Client Services. Recognize potential errors when matching bottles and computer entry. Make client calls for routine and complex discrepancies for retrieving patient information. Perform QA, and specimen container check. Perform initial data entry using a computer to enter patient and client data following standard protocol. Perform scanning and imaging for billing. Participate in improving department efficiency, quality and cooperation. Resolve routine and complex questions and problems. Ensure all company safety, quality control and quality assurance standards are met. Ensure compliance with all local, federal, CLIA and CAP regulations. Maintain a clean and well-organized work area. Provide Accessioning coverage at the Winchester Hospital Pathology lab. Other duties, as assigned by supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Associate Degree, preferred. Strong typing skills (at least 50 wpm). Attention to details is a must. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must possess a strong work ethic and able to work as part of a team. Medical terminology is desired. 3 months to 1 year work experience as an Accessioner / Specimen Processor is preferred.
