• Job Summary:

• Prepares, maintains, and inventories thephysics and earth science laboratories, prep areas, and storage rooms ofthe Departments of Environmental, Geographic, and Public HealthSciences. Assists the Department with equipment and supply orders forcourse
• and research-related activities and those purchased throughinternal and external funding, including grants.

Works directly withfaculty in the department to ensure equipment, apparatus, and suppliesare maintained, repaired, replaced, and compliant. Sets up andcalibrates equipment and apparatus for laboratory courses regularly. Inaddition, supports the Environmental Safety Officer (ESO) by assistingwith safety procedures and equipment in EGPHS.

• KeyResponsibilities:

• Prepare, maintain, and inventory physics and earthscience labs, prep areas, and storage rooms.
• Support faculty withequipment, supplies, and safety in labs.
• Set up and calibrate labequipment for classes.
• Order equipment and supplies, monitorinventories.
• Keep labs clean, safe, and compliant with safetystandards.
• Assist with safety procedures and safety equipment checks
• Repair and maintain laboratory equipment or arrange repairs.
• Superviseand train student employees.
• Collaborate with IT on hardware/softwarefor computer labs.
• Follow safety protocols and report unsafeconditions.
• Support the Environmental Safety Officer as needed.

• Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of lab experience.
• Ability totrack inventories and follow instructions.
• Basic computer skills (wordprocessing, data entry).
• Good communication skills.

• AdditionalInfo:

• Preferred:

  Bachelor?s degree in physics, engineering, geology,or related field. 2+ years of lab experience in physical sciences orindustrial settings.
