As part of our growth and dedication to in-house pathology excellence, we are seeking a detail-oriented Histology Lab Assistant to support our state-of-the-art dermatopathology laboratory. The Histology Lab Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dermatopathology lab. This position supports our histotechnologists and pathologists by preparing specimens, organizing workflow, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring quality and compliance in all lab processes. Duties Accession skin biopsy specimens and verify patient/requisition information Prepare and label cassettes and slides accurately and efficiently Assist with embedding, sectioning, and staining of tissue under the direction of certified histotechnologists Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lab, including proper disposal of biohazardous waste Monitor supply levels and restock reagents and consumables Log cases into our LIS (Laboratory Information System) and ensure accurate tracking Handle specimen pickup and delivery between clinical and lab areas as needed Adhere to all laboratory safety and CLIA compliance protocols Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required Prior laboratory or medical office experience preferred Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Comfortable handling biological specimens and working in a clinical lab setting Basic computer proficiency; experience with laboratory software a plus Excellent communication and time management skills
