Full Job Description Component Laboratory Technician Job Description Hiring Schedule :

Scheduled 4-5 days per week Availability needed Monday-Friday 5:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon rotation of 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Holiday rotation Average 20-25 hours per week

Duties and Responsibilities :

Prepares the following products routinely according to Component laboratory SOP red cells and plasma. Enters each product created into the lab computer system. Performs all quality control and preventive maintenance as required by SOP. Prepares recovered plasma for shipment. Prepares filtered red cells. Operates and performs QC on sterile connection device. Performs computer assisted labeling of blood products. Provides excellent customer service, cultivating positive working relationships with all staff, volunteers and external customers. Exhibits safety, accuracy, respectfulness and efficiencies within specific job tasks. Assists with special projects as assigned.

Physical Requirements :

Requires regular standing, reaching and bending to obtain supplies. Requires lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires manual dexterity and color and visual acuity. Must be able to work in a walk-in freezer periodically each shift.

Position Specifications :
