Job Description
Lab Technician – Inorganic Chemistry Job Description As a Lab Technician, you will play a crucial role in performing in-process, finished, and stability testing of products, while inspecting and testing incoming raw materials. You will communicate effectively with the Production team regarding batch making and required adjustments. Your responsibilities will include monitoring and maintaining the inventory of laboratory supplies, making calculations, analyzing data, and preparing summarized results. Additionally, you will assist in product development activities, method development, and validation, maintain laboratory equipment, and ensure general cleanliness. You will also support Quality Assurance in document control activities, issuance of batch production sheets, and inspection of production areas. Responsibilities Perform wet chemistry tests and analyze samples through quantitative analysis techniques using Flame AA and UV-Vis Spectroscopy. Test in-process samples for required attributes and communicate necessary adjustments to Production. Complete retain sample logs and deposit samples accordingly. Weigh small quantities of raw materials for production use. Keep the laboratory clean and organized. Inspect, label, test, and release incoming raw materials. Effectively communicate with team members and other departments. Read and understand Safety Data Sheets, methods, standard operating procedures, and batch sheets. Maintain a quality-oriented work viewpoint and demonstrate good organizational and time management skills. Essential Skills Proficiency in laboratory techniques, including wet chemistry and quantitative analysis. Experience with Flame AA and UV-Vis Spectroscopy. Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. Strong reasoning and math skills appropriate for general laboratory calculations. Additional Skills & Qualifications Associate’s Degree in Chemistry or a related science field. Non-allergic to chemicals, specifically iodine. Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to read and understand technical documents and communicate well with others. Good organizational and time management skills.
