POSITION SUMMARY:

The Medical Lab Assistant draws blood from patients with minimum difort and pain, for the performance of various blood and chemical analyses. The Medical Lab Assistant works under general supervision to perform various procedures associated with routine patient encounters; and maintains positive relationships with patients, family members and other visitors, and fellow employees. The Medical Lab Assistant analyzes specimens and is responsible for the overall operations of the clinical laboratory within the boundaries established by and the guidance given by the laboratory manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

Formal training which will probably be indicated by a high school diploma or equivalent; certification from an approved phlebotomy training program; experience with the public; the ability to maintainposure when confronted with fast-paced and stressful situations; pleasant attitude; neat appearance; excellentmunication skills; excellent telephonemunication skills; previous experience in a laboratory at a multi-specialty clinic.

WORK SCHEDULE

Monday – Friday, 40 hours/week, rotating schedule with half day every third Friday. Other details
