POSITION SUMMARY:

The Polysomnographic Technologist (PSG Tech) works under the general supervision of the medical director or designee to provideprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in center and out of center sleep testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions,prehensive patient care and direct patient education. A sleep technologist is able to perform the duties defined for a sleep technician and is able to provide oversight of other sleep center staff. The sleep technologist is credentialed in sleep technology.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent. Successfulpletion of a sleep technology program of no less than one-year duration, associated with a state licensed and/or nationally accredited educational facility. (OR) Experience as a sleep trainee, EEG tech or respiratory therapist with documented proficiency in all requiredpetencies andpletes the A-Step program within 2 years of employment. (OR) Holds a certified Polysomnographic technician (CPSGT) or Registered Polysomnographic technologist (RPSGT) credential.
