Lab Assistant Job Description Join a dynamic team in the clinical trials department as a Lab Assistant, where you will play an integral role in the clinical lab science process. You will work in a high-volume, production-based environment, ensuring the smooth processing and analysis of lab specimens. Responsibilities Receive and sort clinical lab specimens. Prepare specimens for testing and analysis. Perform data entry and scanning of specimen and patient information. Ensure all lab equipment is functioning properly and perform minor maintenance. Troubleshoot specimen-related issues. Replenish test bench supplies as needed. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Complete record logs and administrative duties as requested. Follow Standard Operating Procedures to uphold safety and quality standards. Receive, stage, and aliquot specimens for testing. Work collaboratively within a high-volume laboratory to ensure timely reporting of patient results. Maintain, calibrate, and clean instrumentation. Perform quality control and quality assurance duties, including error detection and record keeping. Essential Skills Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in a science-related field is preferred but not required. 0-1+ years of lab experience is preferred. Prior experience working as an accessioner or specimen processor is a plus. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous lab experience is advantageous compared to candidates with no lab experience. Work Environment The position is based in a fast-paced laboratory environment responsible for receiving and processing up to 100,000 samples weekly. The work schedule is Tuesday through Saturday from 10 AM to 6:30 PM, providing opportunities for career advancement within various departments.
