Medical Laboratory Technician 3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars Butner, NC 27509 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician to provide care and care coordination for inmates who are incarcerated in a correctional facility to join our dynamic team. This position requires a strong understanding of laboratory procedures, as well as proficiency in techniques such as PCR, blood banking, and venipuncture. The Medical Laboratory Technician will work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely results that contribute to patient care. Responsibilities Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests on patient samples, including blood, urine, and tissue specimens. Conduct assays and analyze results to assist in diagnosing medical conditions. Prepare samples for testing using appropriate techniques while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring it is calibrated and functioning properly. Document all test results accurately and maintain records in compliance with regulatory standards. Collaborate with clinical staff to discuss findings and assist in the interpretation of results. Participate in quality control processes to ensure the reliability of test outcomes. Stay updated on advancements in laboratory technology and methodologies. Requirements Associate’s degree or equivalent certification in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field. Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to laboratory testing. Experience with PCR techniques, blood banking procedures, and venipuncture is preferred. Familiarity with research laboratory environments and clinical trial processes is a plus. Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
