Laboratory Assistant Job Description We are seeking Specimen Processing Specialists/Lab Assistants to support the consumer genetics group during its peak season and contribute to a special project. This role is integral to helping individuals learn about their ancestry and understand their genetic health risks. Responsibilities Receive, stage, and aliquot specimens for testing Perform required QC/QA duties, including error detection, record maintenance, and pulling samples for rework Essential Skills Specimen collection Patient information handling Inventory management Specimen processing Data entry Additional Skills & Qualifications Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in a science-related field is preferred but not required Prior lab experience or exposure is a plus Work Environment The role involves working in a laboratory setting, where you will be responsible for discarding old samples and preparing them for shipment to another biobank. The position operates on a Monday to Friday schedule, from 8 AM to 5 PM.
