Laboratory Technician Job Description A major biopharmaceutical company is seeking a Laboratory Technician to provide critical support for overflow work within their Manufacturing Science & Technology (MSAT) Group. The site has flexible, multi-product manufacturing capabilities focused on vaccines intermediates, drug substance, and drug product manufacturing. The vaccine manufacturing capabilities center on large-scale microbial fermentation, purification, conjugation, and cell banking. The Lab Technician will be part of the MSAT Central Support Group and will be responsible for ensuring smooth lab operations for the department and the Scientists. Responsibilities Provide lab support functions to ensure smooth operations within the department. Perform data entry and sample preparation. Prepare solutions and buffers as required. Handle and wash glassware. Track inventory and manage materials. Work cross-functionally with the MSAT lab and warehouse teams. Assist in scaling up smaller scale production processes. Essential Skills Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). Experience with laboratory tasks and data entry. Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting and moving materials. Strong communication skills. Team-oriented mindset. Ability to work independently and proactively. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with buffer preparation and glassware handling. Familiarity with inventory tracking systems. Work Environment The position operates on a Monday to Friday day shift, starting at 8 am, with a 40-hour work week. Employees may leave early on Fridays if their work is completed and they are caught up. Overtime may be required for emergency buffers or other business needs. The environment is highly team-oriented, requiring cross-functional collaboration with the MSAT lab and warehouse. The work setting includes lab, office, and manufacturing facilities.
