Summary:

To render professional and technical Polysomnography Testing/Scoring/education to assigned patients. Provide diagnostic and therapeutic care to achieve the highest standards of care specific to the age of the patient.

Responsibilities:

Patients and families are served in providing direct patient care, performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner designed to project a positive image of the department and hospital. The role is also to ensure that contacts with physicians and other customers are conducted in a manner that displays superior customer service.

Qualifications

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Successful completion of an accredited PSG educational program leading to a certificate or associate degree with an emphasis in sleep technology.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

Minimum of one year experience in the sleep technology preferred.

LICENSURE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION

Active BCLS is required. RPSGT required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

Good interpersonal and communication skills required. Strong customer service focus. Demonstrated understanding of patient care needs according to the developmental stages for various age groups.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Exposure to blood-borne pathogens, infectious and contagious diseases requiring the use of personal protective equipment. Contact with cleaning agents, chemicals, and some toxic chemicals may also require use of PPE. Subject to stressful work periods and long irregular hours.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT

Walking, standing, sitting, along with physical use of both hands is necessary. With assistance will be lifting patients and pushing or carrying equipment throughout the shift.
