Job Description
MOHS Technician 3.6 3.6 out of 5 stars 51 Railroad Street, Keene, NH 03431 Provides technical support to the following services: Histology and Hazardous Materials Management. Correctly identifies specimens and labels processing materials. Provides gross bench with materials and supplies required for specimen preparation. Assists with frozen section preparation as requested by bench personnel. Disposes of surgical specimens per established departmental policy. Correctly identifies specimens and maintains identification throughout processing. Prepares specimens for microscopic evaluation per established protocols. Maintains tissue processors, stainers, and coverslippers. Prepares stock solutions. Performs gross minimal dissections of tissue with little supervision. Ensures all specimens are accurately labeled. Cleans autopsy suite. Ensures that all material is properly labeled and in appropriate biohazard containers or bags. Maintains inventory of flammable materials. Ensures that all material is properly labeled and stored. Maintains appropriate logs. Reports all problems to appropriate personnel. Works closely with Facilities Management and Supervisor to ensure the requirements for various regulatory agencies are met. High school graduate with 2 years of applicable laboratory experience required. Associate’s degree in science preferred
