The Flow Cytometry Laboratory isseeking a Laboratory Technologist I or II interested in learningspecialized, high complexity testing. The Flow Cytometry Laboratoryperforms a series of assays on various cellular components of theimmune system, providing key information in the diagnosis ofleukemias and lymphomas, and in monitoring the immune systems ofnumerous groups of patients, including those receiving bone marrowtransplants or biologic response modifiers. MSK is also dedicatedto providing diverse educational opportunities to further developthe skills and ambitions of our medical technologists, laboratorymanagers, and laboratory directors.
Role Overview:
Performtechnical duties in all laboratory sections, as assigned. Reviewtest orders and verify accuracy of corresponding specimens.
Maintain digital files in a neat and accessible manner. Accuratelymaintain specimen identity from entry to the lab to release ofresults. Navigate laboratory information systems proficiently. Beaware of and contribute to the safety and cleanliness of thelaboratory. Restock reagents and supplies as necessary. Assure theaccuracy of all tests performed by adhering to the laboratory’sStandard Operating Procedures. Perform routine equipmentmaintenance. Handle the physical environment of the laboratory inaccordance with New York State DOH, Joint Commission, OSHA and CLIAregulations Provide direction, training, and feedback on routinelaboratory procedures, as assigned
Qualifications:
A current NewYork State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License (licensesrestricted to flow cytometry are acceptable). A Bachelors degreeSome experience in flow cytometry is preferred. Candidates with akeen interest in flow cytometry and an eagerness to learn will beconsidered for a Technologist I role, while those with at least 2years of clinical laboratory experience will be considered for aTechnologist II role. Excellent verbal and written communicationskills. Motivation to constantly learn and to develop your skillsin a highly sophisticated and demanding laboratory setting.

37.5 hours per week
Shift:
11AM- 7PM Tues – Fri; 9AM-5PMSat; Sundays, Mondays, and holidays off
