Sleep Technician 3.4 3.4 out of 5 stars Township of Franklin, NJ 08873 Located in: Franklin Township, New Jersey 08873 The Sleep Technician provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders under the general supervision of the Manager, and in collaboration with the Medical Director or designee. The duties include, but are not limited to: Collecting, analyzing, and integrating patient information in order to identify and meet the patient-specific needs and to determine final testing parameters/procedures in conjunction with the ordering physician or clinical director and laboratory protocols Perform Polysomnographic Procedures under the direction of the ordering physician Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned {keep this for all} Qualifications or Education, Training and Experience Successful completion of a one-year polysomnography program, associated with a State licensed and/or nationally accredited educational facility; or a minimum of six months experience as a Polysomnographic Technician with documented proficiencies Professional Certification by Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) as Registered Polysomnographic Technologist or equivalent BLS certification, as recognized by American Heart Association is required Knowledge and Skills/Expected Competencies Examples of competencies Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information. Ability to analyze and solve problems; requires details, data and facts that must be analyzed and challenged prior to making decisions Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to clearly communicate medical information to professional practitioners and/or the general public. Ability to maintain confidential information Excellent organization, prioritization, follow up, analytical and time management skills with ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines. Ability to provide guidance and training to professional and technical staff in area of expertise. Good interpersonal skills, sense of urgency, being proactive and ownership for one’s work. Dependable, with strong work ethic and extremely high degree personal integrity. Ability to face multiple deadlines that must be met on time. Ability to deal with multiple interruptions on a continual basis that must be met with a friendly exchange with others. Helpful and constructive view of working with others to achieve positive outcomes. Ability to develop and implement new approaches to improve processes, procedures or the general work environment.
