We currently have an opportunity for a Laboratory Technician, Perfumery Lab position located in our New York City Gallery located at East 55th Street. Precision compounding of formulae utilizing Batch metrics. Preparation of finished product samples in various customer bases for perfumers and/or evaluators evaluation when needed. Calculate fragrance dosage when applicable Take flashpoint values of compounded oils when necessary Prepare oil samples for projects with short deadlines to ensure timely submission to customer Catalogue fragrances that will be used for submissions and/or consumer testing Maintain fresh stock of raw materials in workstation Maintain clean and organized workstation Acquire working knowledge of all raw materials and sub-compounds Communicate status of fragrances/projects to other departments (Applications/QC/Sales/Safety Use One-T project management system to maintain knowledge of existing projects and deadlines Help others when there is an overload of work(fragrance lab/ sample lab). Fill in for assistants when requested by supervisor/manager
Educational Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Associates or 4 year degree a plus.
Experience:
One (1) year of lab experience or science degree in lieu of experience is acceptable.
Technical Competencies:
Basic computer and math skills are required.
Competencies:
Requires the ability to operate a variety of standard business machines, such as a computer and keyboard, calculator, photocopier, telephone, etc. Some degree of lifting and heavy work is common with the daily moving of equipment, machinery, samples and supplies.
Physical Demands:
