Full Job Description Job Title:
Lab Technician Job Description Perform testing using the Near Infra-red methods, acidity tests, sink work, and other microbial testing and environmental sampling. Prepare solutions and media required for laboratory testing. Sterilize equipment as needed. Perform butterfat and total solids tests on fluid milk, cream, condensed and sweetened condensed milk, and powdered products utilizing the appropriate tester. Maintain lab records of samples, test results, and lab quality control measures. Certify that finished product is suitable for sale by meeting government and customer specifications. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the lab and the integrity of all testing results. Evaluate truck shipments for acceptance based upon established criteria. Complete entry into the computer systems and generate requested reports. Hard Skills High School Diploma Degree in Biology, Food Science, or other related field (Associates or Bachelors) OR at least one year experience in food manufacturing as a technician or in quality Performing Near Infra-red methods Conducting acidity tests Microbial testing Environmental sampling Preparing solutions and media Sterilizing equipment Performing butterfat and total solids tests Maintaining lab records Evaluating truck shipments Computer system entry Soft Skills Attention to detail Accuracy Work ethic Commitment Work Site This is a fully on-site position in Reading, Pennsylvania.
