Job Description
Summary:
Seeking a HPGe Lab Specialist for second shift to perform routine laboratory tasks and research in a crystal growing lab.
Job Requirements:
General working knowledge of laboratory instruments and equipment Basic computer operations including spreadsheets, word processing, email Familiar with safety and health policies and programs Ability to lift 50 lbs. on occasion Willingness to work with mineral acids and solvents safely Ability to stand for most of shift Good reading, language, and mathematical skills Manual dexterity
Preferred Skills:
High School Diploma (Associates degree preferred)
Job Responsibilities:
Perform routine mechanical, electrical, chemical, and crystallographic analysis using various lab equipment Prepare, analyze, and machine samples following established practices Maintain routine calibrations and operate laboratory equipment; assist with troubleshooting as needed Keep lab equipment, supplies, and work areas clean and organized Dispose of samples, waste, and broken glassware following strict safety procedures Prioritize samples, plan work sequence, communicate status/results to supervisor Comply with all applicable safety and health rules; complete required documentation accurately
