Job Summary and Qualifications A Sleep Technician, also known as a Polysomnographic Technician, assists in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders. They monitor patients during overnight sleep studies, operate specialized equipment to record brain activity, breathing, and other physiological functions, and provide accurate data for sleep physicians to analyze. Key responsibilities include preparing patients for studies, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring a safe, comfortable environment. Strong attention to detail, technical skills, and patient care abilities are essential for this role. What you will do in this role: Performs computerized sleep monitoring. Assists in ongoing operation of sleep lab activities/duties. Helps alleviate the patients fears by explaining the testing procedure. Completes all pre and post test documentation. Preps patient in a timely and friendly manner to ensure quality diagnostic data for interpretation. Documents all notes in a timely and complete manner. Initiates CPAP when indicated and helps develop patient compliance during titration process. Cleans sleep lab following testing and prepares for the following test day. Assists in orientation/training of new employees. Assists with collection of QI data. Assists with supply inventory. Assists in the evaluation of new equipment.

What qualifications you will need:

Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date Polysomnographer must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date Registered Polysomnography Technician (RPSGT), or Registered Sleep Technician must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date 2 years experience preferred TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center is a 109-bed acute care hospital in Springfield Tennessee that is dedicated to serving the healthcare needs of Robertson County and the surrounding areas.
