THIS IS A GRANT FUNDED POSITION JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Research Technician 2 collects and extracts data (TMS data, EMR data related to all aspects of the subject’s clinical care, patient and provider completed forms). This position is trained to perform a variety of basic and general research experiments under supervision. The position will include scientific activities related to database management, regulatory documentation and assistance in manuscript, abstract and grant preparation. Assists with subject recruitment and consent. Creates and maintains RedCap database for the study. Performs TMS experiments and administers clinical scales under supervision. Extract TMS data into Excel and RedCap; extract clinical data into RedCap. Maintains regulatory and other study-related documentation. Conduct literature research and systematic reviews. Assists with proposal and grant writing, manuscript writing, and manuscript publication. Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Psychology, Neuroscience, Physical Sciences, or a related field of study. (TRANSCRIPT

EXPERIENCE

OR a combination of college coursework and work experience to equal four (4) years.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of biological sciences and concepts. Knowledge of human neuroscience and psychology. Skills in proper research methodology, keeping orderly up-to-date and accurate laboratory records, maintaining organization, and exercising ethical practices. Skills in communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the audience and in talking to others to convey information effectively. Computer skills, particularly with all software in Microsoft Office. Ability to execute laboratory safety procedures.
