Polysomnographic Technologist Position Available In Sumner, Tennessee

• Provides care for patients undergoing sleep studies and sleep disorder treatment.

Performs EEGs as assigned.

Reports to: Director

• Cardiac-Pulmonary & Neurodiagnostics Prepares for the arrival of the patient by setting up and preparing the equipment for the ordered test.

Drag Edit DeletePerforms testing and any additional testing required for sleep disorder that is noted.

Drag Edit DeleteScores, interprets, and reports results of sleep studies. Educates patients about test results, sleep disorders, community support groups, and available resources.

Drag Edit DeletePrepares, calibrates, repairs, and maintains equipment required for testing. Determines and reports needed repairs and replacements.

Drag Edit DeleteMaintains proper supplies to care for patients.

Drag Edit DeletePerforms EEGs, as directed, utilizing proper technics with minimal repeats.

• Minimum Education
• High School diploma or GED

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)

• Required to be current upon hire.

  Effective 7/1/2010, State of Tennessee Polysomnography licensure

• Required when performing Sleep Studies.

Must obtain within 6 months of employment.

New Hires pending State Polysomnography Licensure can only complete EEG Tech functions.
