Job Summary The Department of Internal Medicine is searching for a Research Technician to join our team. This individual will be responsible for carrying out intricate and complex technical tasks related to research-oriented experiments. The responsibilities include performing physical, biological, or chemical tasks to gather data for research projects. The role involves recording and analyzing research results, creating detailed reports and graphs, and notifying the supervisor of any deviations from expected outcomes. Additionally, this position is responsible for maintaining laboratory stock, equipment, and supplies, providing technical guidance to designated employees, and ensuring the proper setup and operation of research equipment for specific experiments. Position contingent upon grant funding. Salary may be adjusted based on the applicant’s working experience. The value of employment at ETSU goes far beyond salary. Demonstrated ability with laboratory research equipment such as spectrometers, microscopes, flow cytometry, scintillation counters, autoclaves, centrifuges, and sonicators.
Broad knowledge of basic laboratory methodologies, such as cell isolation, purification, and culture, DNA/RNA isolation and amplification by RT-PCR, protein determination by Western blot, ELISA, and Flow cytometry. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree
One (1) year of Research Laboratory Experience Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree in Biomedical Sciences or Similar
Two (2) Years of Research Laboratory Experience Salary $29,960
