Medical Assistant, (RN, LPN) Gastroenterology Confidential Tuscaloosa, AL 35406 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various medical settings. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting healthcare providers and ensuring the smooth operation of our medical facility. Your responsibilities will include both clinical and administrative tasks that contribute to patient care and overall efficiency. Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures. Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean and properly stocked with necessary supplies. Obtain patient histories, vital signs, and other relevant information for medical records. Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians. Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic procedures. Schedule patient appointments and manage the flow of patients within the office or clinic. Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with regulations and standards. Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care as needed. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Requirements Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is preferred. Experience in Gastroenterology or related fields is highly desirable. Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures relevant to outpatient care settings. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as hospitals or Level II Trauma Centers. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing patient records and appointments. Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
