Job DescriptionWe are looking for a LicensedPractical Nurse (LPN) to provide patient care, administermedication, and provide treatment to patients in a psychiatrichospital. Candidates will need to attend a full two weekorientation, working Monday – Friday, 8am – 4:30pm. This facilityoperates 24/7. Candidate may be required to work 16 hr shift asneeded. The normal shift will be 12 hours, days or nights. Thisposition will be full-time and on-site.
What You’ll Do Assess resident complaints and determine action, notifyingsupervisor when necessary Admit and transfer residents to and from other units or outsidesources. Administer oral and/or injectable medication and controlledmedications in accordance with facility policy, and within theirscope of practice as defined by Florida law Observe for side effects or adverse effects to medication andreport to assigned supervisor, or further assessment andtreatment Prepare paperwork as required for consults within facility andoutside appointments Coordinate residents’ appointments with unit staff to ensuremedications are appropriately timed as need for resident movementto and from the unit Provide emergency medical/psychiatric treatment within scope ofpractice as defined by facility and Florida law and notifyingsupervisor for further assistance Complete incident reports factually and objectively, within theappropriate time frame as defined by the facility Complete progress notes on resident care within the appropriatetime frame as defined by the facility Advocate for residents’ recovery and safety Maintain appropriate and professional behavior duringinteractions with residents’, supervisors, and other staffmembers Display professionalism throughout employment including, butnot limited to, arriving to work on time, maintaining an accuratetimesheet, and maintaining professional appearance as defined byfacility policy
