Licensed Practical Nurse:

The Domiciliary LPN demonstres a basic ability to appropriely carry out assigned pient care based on the pients’ conditions and uses good judgment in selecting the approprie order and sequence of care. The pients have a wide range of psychiric illnesses, often accompanied by medical complicions. Demonstres technique in performing, reporting, and recording assigned nursing care, including, but not limited to: medicion administrion, vital signs, ensures medicions/supplies are not expired and removes expired medicions/supplies from inventory; assists in medicion reconciliion, completes every 2 hour surveillance rounds, completes daily checks of the AED; completes the blood glucose meter check daily, assists with COVID antigen collection of staff and residents and documents as approprie in CPRS. Other duties include but not limited to: Knowledge and ability to appropriely carry out assigned Veteran care based on the Veterans’ conditions; to use judgment in selecting the approprie order and sequence of procedures and trements; and to accurely recognize, report and record relevant Veteran informion. Demonstres the ability to observe, identify, and respond to the Veteran’s needs for care, including medicion, equipment-assisted care, and Veteran/family educion. In organizing and delivering care, the LPN recognizes and considers emotional, cultural, spiritual, socio-economic, and age-reled factors. Prepares and administers prescribed medicions (oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular and/or intravenous) and performs trements according to established policies/procedures. Physical aspects associed with work required of this assignment are typical for the occupion and would generally not require a pre-placement examinion. This position requires visual acuity, keen hearing, clear distinctive speech, and manual dexterity. This position requires potentially long periods of continued walking, standing, kneeling, sitting, bending, pulling, and pushing. Transferring pients and objects may be required. The incumbent may be exposed to infected pients and contamined merials and may be required to don protective clothing in isolion situions or operive/invasive procedures.
