  • Multiple positions/shifts are available. All SLPN’s working 2nd or 3rd shift will be eligible for $1.00/hr. shift differential.?
  • Excellent retirement package and optional deferred compensation plan.

Health, vision, dental, ?disability, and other supplemental insurance available at reasonable premium rates. Paid vacation and ?sick leave. Nine (9) paid holidays and personal day. Tuition waiver available for State Universities and ?Community Colleges (up to 6 credits per semester).?From funds available, new employees as well as returning employees that have been separated from the Agency for a period of twelve (12) months or more may be ?eligible for a sign-on bonus of $2,000. This amount will be paid out over a one year period at 6-month intervals. Any employee leaving employment with the agency or moving to OPS prior to that timeframe will forfeit any additional bonus reimbursement.

There is no guarantee of payment unless you ?complete the term of employment. If you leave prior to completion of the term, you are ?owed nothing by the Agency, and the recoupment of any previously paid bonus amount ?will be at the Agencys discretion.

The FDVA Nursing State Veterans Nursing Homes are designated employment sites for the Nursing Student Loan Forgiveness Program

  • From funds available, the program may make nursing education loan repayments of up to $4000 per year, per nurse enrolled in the program, for a maximum of four years
  • Payment is made at the end of each 12-month enrollment period and made directly to the participants lender
  • Enrollment and payment of awards is based on available funds.
  • Other Senior Licensed Practical Nurse, including OPS (Temporary) positions, may be filled from this advertisement within six (6) months of the closing date.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be willing and able to work weekends and holidays as required
  • Must possess a valid State of Florida Licensed Practical Nurse Licensure
  • Must possess a valid CPR certification
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in
English:

reading, writing, speaking, and understanding

  • Must possess excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Successful completion of the due diligence process to include, but not limited to,a Level II background check and drug screen
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • One (1) year of experience in long-term care/120-bed skilled nursing facility, with a geriatric population
  • One (1) year of experience providing practical nursing services
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records
  • Experience passing medications in a skilled nursing facility
  • Knowledgeable in the use of computer applications: Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
POSITION DESCRIPTION

The incumbent is responsible for providing quality care to the residents to ensure their health, safety, and security in accordance with established agency Standard Operating Procedures and Nurse Practice Act. Incumbent reports to the Nursing Supervisor.

Provides administrative support that is technical in nature through established nursing standards, the individualized care plan and interdisciplinary teamwork according to established local and FDVA policies and proceduresCoordinates shift assignments to team members, providing supervision f licensed and unlicensed staff and follow up to ensure completion of assignmentsProvide assistance with all aspects of resident care, treatments, self-administration of medications, coordinating medical appointments and spending time in social interactions with residents each shift worked
