Job Description
Category Schools – LPN Nurse Job Type Contract A full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) is needed in the Port Saint Lucie, FL area to provide dedicated healthcare support to a medically fragile student in a school setting. This role requires working one-on-one during the standard school day with no bus riding responsibilities. The position is a contract assignment lasting for a full semester, ideal for experienced LPNs who are compassionate and skilled in pediatric nursing care.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct nursing care to a medically fragile student throughout the school day (7:00am to 2:00pm) Manage care activities including g-tube feedings and diapering with precision and sensitivity Monitor the student’s health status and respond promptly to any medical needs or emergencies Document nursing interventions and report observations to appropriate school healthcare staff or authorities Collaborate with educators and school personnel to support the student’s health and participation in school activities
Qualifications:
Current and valid LPN/LVN licensure in the state of Florida Experience working with medically fragile pediatric patients, preferably in a school or similar setting Knowledge and proficiency in administering g-tube feedings and providing diapering care Ability to work independently and maintain a calm, professional demeanor in a one-on-one care environment Excellent communication and documentation skills
