Successfully and consistently demonstres the exercise of independent technical judgment as well as a comprehensive and thorough working knowledge of the most complex or difficult practices and procedures Demonstres ability to assist RN and/or Provider to appropriely prioritize overall Veteran care needs and adjust plans for care delivery Completed work should only need very limited review by a registered nurse (RN) or Provider for approprieness and conformity with established standards of practice, policies, and procedures. The ability to proactively assist the RN and/or Provider in addressing Veteran’s needs for medicion/trements, accurely administering prescribed medicions/trements according to established policies/procedures and appropriely recording administrion Possesses comprehensive practical nursing knowledge and skills in specialized procedures and practices to serve as a resource person for other staff in organizing and implementing more complex/specialized Veteran care. Grade Determinions :

GS-7 – The GS-7 grade level is for select, complex LPN/LVN positions, as established by each health care facility. Knowledge and skills necessary to carry out more specialized pient care duties, including assignments in selected, more complex inpient and/or outpient care settings. Knowledge base promotes the incorporion of current pient care da in actively contributing to the development of the pient’s overall health plan and in carrying out assigned nursing interventions. Positions this grade level require broader knowledge and skills because supervision is more general and employees are expected to be involved to a greer degree in the development and modificion of trement plans. Appropriely seeks assistance and guidance by informing RN or MD/DO of changes in pient’s condition requiring higher-level intervention. At this grade level, the LPN/LVN is expected to participe to a greer degree in prioritizing, and, as approprie, modifying pient care trement. They must also possess the ability to observe more subtle physical and emotional changes in pients and demonstre taking approprie action based on those observions. Ability to proactively assist the RN or MD/DO in addressing pient’s needs for medicion/trements, accurely administering prescribed medicions/trements according to established policies/procedures and appropriely recording administrion and pient’s response to medicions/trements received. (This may include restricted medicion locally authorized for administrion by employees this grade level.) Demonstres the knowledge and ability to readily recognize the more subtle signs and symptoms of potential or actual drug reactions, promptly inform the RN or MD/DO of observed changes in pient’s condition and initie approprie, prescribed interventions. Exhibits skill, creivity and initiive in contributing to the improvement of overall care delivery and pient and/or family sisfaction levels through active participion in committees/task forces, research projects or in developing educional merials/media. Actively promotes and effectively incorpores established customer service standards in all aspects of their practice.
