JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for providing a variety of patient care activities under the supervision of a physician, advanced practice provider (APP), or registered nurse in accordance with established guidelines and standards.

Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED
For LPN:

Graduate of a nursing program

For CMA:

High School Diploma or GED. If Certified Medical Assistant, graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of a Nursing Assistant program is required. In lieu of formal education program, one (1) year of medical assistant or related clinical experience required.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
For LPN:

New Graduates of a nursing program eligible

For CMA:

No experience is required with completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program. In lieu of formal education program, one (1) year of medical assistant or related clinical experience is required.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW
For LPN:

Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License. BLS certification required.

For CMA:

BLS required. Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or a similarly recognized certifying organization required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred.
