PRN Job Summary:
Provides care topatients under the direction of a registered nurse or physician,functioning within the scope of license.
Job Responsibilities andRequirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Delivers care to assignedclients and performs direct care in accordance with an establishedplan of care. Delivers safe care at all times that is in line withphysician orders and established nursing care standards. Maintainscommunication regarding patient progress with physician,supervisor, staff and family members as appropriate to thesituation. Reports patient-related observations to supervisingRegistered Nurse (RN) on a daily basis. Administers medications andobserves patients for adverse reactions to medications ortreatments. Provides documentation that follows the establishedtreatment plan, supports coordination of patient care, meetsregulatory requirements and ensures reimbursement. May performpoint of care testing according to policies and procedures. Worksin a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Performs otherduties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Graduate of an accredited school ofnursing or educational equivalency for licensing
EXPERIENCE
Oneyear licensed practical nurse experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Constant use of speech to share information through oralcommunication. Constant standing and walking. Frequentlifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
Frequent sitting, reaching and keyboard use/data entry. Frequentuse of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches orless) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguishcolors. Frequent use of smell to detect/recognize odors. Frequentuse of hearing to receive oral communication, distinguish bodysounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing25-50 lbs. Occasional lifting/moving of patients. Occasionalbending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping andrepetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements. Rare crawling andrunning.
REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
