Job Description:
SCOPE:
Functions as a point person/coordinator of services for radiation oncologists and radiation oncology patients. Promotes the smooth transition of patient care from entry into MBPCC system until completion of treatment and throughout follow-up process. Assists designated physician(s) in a variety of professional and paraprofessional patient care activities as specified and requested. Responsible for providing specialized care of the radiation oncology patient including patient assessments and education and participation in other procedures as required by physician.
FUNCTIONS
1. Coordination of patient care services. 2. Specialized nursing care of radiation oncology patients. 3. Phone triage 4. Patient education 5. Infection Control/Emergency Standards 6. Medical chart management
QUALIFICATIONS
Active LPN license in the state of LA. Active BLS CPR. Oncology experience preferred. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in nursing required, oncology experience preferred.
