This full-time position is in Hammond, Louisiana and is powered by Beacon Behavioral Partners. Your primary goal will be providing mental health care to our patients, offering comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and therapeutic interventions. (including but not limited to) A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at a mental health residential treatment facility plays a critical role in supporting the overall health and well-being of residents. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician, the LPN is responsible for administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and observing residents for any changes in physical or mental health. You will assist in managing symptoms related to psychiatric conditions, ensuring medication compliance, and provide basic nursing care as needed. The LPN will also help educate residents about their medications and health conditions, document care accurately, and collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary treatment team to support individualized care plans. Their presence contributes to a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment that promotes stability and recovery. Responsibilities Essential duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to) Participates in the planning, coordinating and documenting total patient care in conjunction with the multidisciplinary treatment team. Accurately reports and records the patient’s condition and care, including signs and symptoms which may be indicative of change. Prepares clinical/progress notes daily and incorporates into the clinical record weekly, and documents monthly recertifications/Master Treatment Plan Updates in coordination with the multidisciplinary treatment team. Assists the patient with activities of daily living while teaching appropriate self-care techniques. Educates and supervises other healthcare personnel in providing continuity of care. Initiates and sustains the implementation of all physician orders. Remains cognizant of Medicare reimbursement criteria, current charting needs and dates of recertification of all patients under his/her care and supervision. Completes, maintains and submits accurate and relevant clinical notes. Participates in case conferences, in-services, and other programs and meetings as needed. Facilitates nursing psych-education groups as needed. Assures complete and timely documentation of each group facilitated. Complete Nursing Health Screen for every new admission. Communicate any issues/concerns with physician. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Certification in Basic Life Support required. Certification in non-violent crisis intervention.

Physical Demands:

This job requires employees to have a full range of physical capabilities, including the ability to handle and lift patients, demonstrate manual and finger dexterity, and maintain good eye-hand coordination. Employees must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and occasionally lift and carry items up to 40 lbs. Corrected vision and hearing within the normal range are also required.
