POSTING of VACANCY
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
AM and PM Shifts on school transportation, hours vary
2024-2025 School Year
2-5 mornings and afternoons through June 18, 2025
1-4 mornings and afternoons, July 7,2025-August 14, 2025

Qualifications:

Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse, CPNP or LPN in Massachusetts.
Current certification in CPR and First Aid.
Experience in child health, community health, or other relevant clinical nursing.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 nursing care during school bus transportation
Monitor and respond to seizure-related medical needs
Collaborate with school based team to maintain continuity and quality of care
Follow an AM or PM shift or alternate on a set schedule
Maintain clear and consistent communication with bus drivers, school staff, and parents/guardians regarding the student’s. Maintain necessary medical supplies and equipment on the bus to meet the student’s healthcare needs. health and transportation needs
Document any incidents, medical concerns, or medication administration in accordance with school policies and procedures.

Medical Duties:

Watch for signs or symptoms of a seizure
Responsible for administering seizure medications as prescribed by the student’s physician, following the Emergency Action Plan
Provide nursing services to student on a day to day, as needed basis.
Administer medications as needed
Communicate with parents, faculty/staff and healthcare providers as needed.
Provide emergency care in cases of injury or sudden illness.
Perform such other tasks as may be assigned by the building Principal and/or the Director of Student Services
