Job Description
This person will work the summer program and moved on to the full school year position.
Responsibilities:
Emergency care (which includes replacement of the trach if it should fall out). Suctioning 2-4 times during the school day
Frequent respiratory assessment
The nurse monitors O2 sats
The nurse monitors bathroom trips
The nurse monitors nutritional intake
The nurse provides any basic care the student might require during the course of the school day and communicates with parents as necessary. The nurse will stay with the student during the school day moving throughout the building for medical needs only
The nurse takes a 30 minute unpaid lunch from 11:45-12:15 with coverage provided by the school based nurse
The nurse communicates daily with parents via daily notes detailing the needs of the day, phone calls, texts and email as needed
Doctors orders and Care Plans for this school year are complete.
