  • This is a time limited NS-14 position
  • The County Licensed Nurse Practical (LPN) will assist with public health nursing services primarily within a county health department clinic under the direction of a County Coordinating Nurse.

Duties include conducting patient assessments, development treatment plans, providing health education, referring patients to care, conducting disease control activities, performing direct patient care procedures, home visitation, and serving on emergency/disaster response teams. Licensed Nurse Practical (LPN) positions are first-level Nursing positions accountable for administering medication and other prescribed treatments, taking vital signs, assisting with care plan activities, observing and reporting patient conditions and behaviors, and participating in rehabilitation, ambulation, and transfers. Communicates with doctors, patients, and families, and educates patients on care. What you’ll need to be Successful To be successful a candidate should have excellent multitasking, organizational, and communication skills. Employees must prioritize work to meet deadlines and be an effective team player. Need to have knowledge of MSDH programs and use that knowledge effectively to assist clients and/or patients as needed. Preferred Qualifications Typically requires a Certificate from an Approved School of Nursing, Licensure as an LPN and 0-4 years of experience.
