Job Description
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Nursing services are provided by a registered nurse licensed to practice in Mississippi or a licensed practical nurse (LPN) as allowed in the MS Nursing Practice Act and Rules and Regulations.
This applies to appropriate supervisory oversight rules as well.
REQUIREMENTS
LPN licensure in the State of Mississippi
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recording the patient’s medical history.
- Talking to patients.
- Offering basic levels of care.
- Assisting individuals with daily activities if needed.
- Closely observing the individuals for changes.
- Collecting samples for routine laboratory testing.
- Providing emotional support to the individual.
- Reinforcing teachings.
- Supervising medication preparation and individuals taking medications.
- Supervise, assess, and administer medications to detox individuals.
- Carrying out Physician orders.
- Documenting daily on detox patients.
- Be available to assess other individuals with SUD for ailments, injuries, etc.
- Administer PRN medications to individuals with SUD.
- Anything else as directed by Director of Clinical Services.
- May perform drug tests, TB injections, immunizations, etc.
- Assist with searches of female individuals with SUD.
Any other duty as directed by Administrator.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle, palpate, write; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to be on his/her feet for extended periods of time. The employee must squat, stoop, or kneel, reach above head, and reach forward. The employee continuously uses hand strength to equipment. The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk more than the average while performing the duties if this job. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds such as crates, bags, or cartons. The employee will sometimes push/pull items such as tables, or furniture. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
