Licensed Practical Nurse:

The Charles George VAMC currently has one (1) opening in Inpient Mental Health. The Licensed Practical Nurse is a member of the healthcare team, who performs a variety of nursing skills specific to the clinical needs of pients on the Inpient Mental Health unit and under supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Duties:

Administers medicion accurely and promptly under the general supervision of a registered nurse. Demonstres understanding of the Recovery Model Demonstres understanding of mental health environment of care. Demonstres understanding of the effects and/or reactions caused by medicions, trements, and procedures. Records and reports these observions. Accurely records and reports pient care consistent with policy and procedure. This includes, but is not limited to, pient observions and trements. Participes in Trement Team meetings. Maintains a safe, clean, therapeutic environment and adheres to infection control guidelines. Prevents injury to self and others by complying with established safety procedures. Demonstres safe work habits, identifies and immediely reports any unsafe conditions to the registered nurse. Other duties as assigned.
