TheUnit Manager provides supervision of staff and will safeguard thehealth, safety and welfare of all Residents/residents under theircare by following applicable laws, regulations, and establishednursing policies and procedures.

Essential Functions1. Providesquality nursing care to Residents/residents in an environment thatpromotes their rights, dignity and freedom of choice.2. Providessupervision to C.N.As and all subordinate staff which includeschecking their work to ascertain that assignments have beencompleted.3. Supervises direct care of residents and nursingpersonnel on his/her shift.4. Gives and receives shift reports.5.Rounds the unit multiple times during the shift to assure propercare is rendered in a safe and clean environment.6. Keepsphysicians and families aware of changes in residents condition.7.Assists in developing comprehensive care plans.8. Completes medicalrecords documenting care provided and other information inaccordance with nursing policies while maintaining strictconfidentiality.9. Assure that established infection control andstandard precaution practices are maintained when providing care.

Follow established safety precautions when preforming tasks andusing equipment and supplies.

Supervisory ResponsibilityThisposition has direct supervisor responsibilities for Certified NurseAides and other personnel assigned.

Required Education andExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent.

Graduate from andaccredited nursing program.

Current State License as a RN.C.P.R.CertifiedPreferred Education and Experience One year experience asa nurse in a long-term care setting.
