Pain Management Clinic Job Description :

This position performs a variety of routine administrative and clinical tasks to ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the pain management clinic. The MA/LPN is responsible for coordinating and performing general clinic and administrative functions, including, but not limited to greeting patients, maintaining patient schedules & patient reports, typing correspondence, filing, answering phones and transmitting messages. This position is clinically competent and assists in delivery of direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse or physician.

Qualifications:

High school graduate or equivalent. Certified as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) OR be a graduate of an approved program in medical assisting and meets all eligibility requirements for certification as a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant. If a recent graduate of an approved program of medical assistant, incumbent must obtain certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) within two years of employment. Must be a graduate of a one-year accredited school of nursing (LPN). Must hold a current and valid North Carolina License as LPN. Current BLS certification. CPI certification required at first opportunity after hire. In specific circumstances, experience working as a non-certified medical assistant in the specialty in which the team member will work will be accepted in lieu of certification. This will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

Experience :

One year of experience as a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant, preferably in a medical clinic setting. Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is required. Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills. Good communication and organizational skills. One year of experience as LPN. One year experience in a clinic setting preferred. Should be proficient in clinic practice within one month of employment.
