Role:
We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 School LPN/LVN to identify and treat health disorders among students in the school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide instruction for the student’s general wellbeing and disease prevention. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed. Monitors the student’s physical conditions in the school setting and refers the student to appropriate resources as needed. Perform in compliance with his/her LPN/LVN scope of practice and according to state education codes. Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and healthcare providers to support the student’s needs. Maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with school policies. Educate and support the student in managing their health condition.
Qualifications:
Current LPN/LVN license for the state in which the nurse practices Current PPD or Chest X-Ray One year prior professional nursing experience in school setting preferred Pediatric experience preferred Current BLS card Considerable knowledge of medical disorders and treatment Considerable knowledge of child growth and development Some knowledge of public health problems and procedures for treatment in coordination with other health and social service agencies Some knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations affecting the delivery of school health services Understands the school organization and the community served Must be at least 18 years of age
