Formal Education /
Training:
Licensed by the State ofTennessee.
Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
BLS within 90days of hire.

A medical/surgical unit withpatient population ranging from less than one year of age>ninety-nine years of age.
Physical Effort:

Requires prolongedstanding and working for up to twelve hours a day.
Required topush/pull objects up to 175 lbs.
Requires the ability to lift andturn patients with assistance up to 250 lbs.
PERFORMANCE
STANDARDSCollects data on all patients within theappropriate time of admission utilizing skills of observation,communication and examination; including data obtained frompatient, family and other members of the healthcare team.
Revisesthe patient’s care plan on an individual basis, identifyingproblems/needs, nursing diagnosis, standards of care/practice,interventions consistent with identified problems and attainableoutcomes.
Assists with patient teaching, discharge and postdischarge needs as appropriate for patient population.
Functionsindependently with treatments, procedures and equipment appropriateto areas evidence by adherence to policy, procedure and competencybased assessment and no pattern or trend ofproblem.
Handles/transports/stores/prepares/administers/solutionssafely in accordance with hospital and departmental policies andproceduresMonitors and reports patient’s condition, evaluatepatient response to treatment and modify plan of care appropriatelyand in a timely manner.
Documents accurately and timely.
Maintainshealing and therapeutic environment for the patient andfamily.
