This is a FT 2nd Seat position (non-remote) that can be filled with a qualified RN or LPN. Position is typically a Monday-Friday schedule, with occasional hours in evening and on weekends to meet the demands of the position or inclement weather policies. And best of all our MDS team currently has No On-Call Duty. This position requires experience in clinical reimbursement as it relates to MDS completion, accuracy and transmission. MDS Assessment and RAI process knowledge and an understanding of Medicare regulations with regards to
PDPM, OBRA
as well as Medicaid CMI is required. Conducts education on the RAI process for employees involved in the MDS process. The MDS coordinator team will also be responsible for the overall PDPM process and meetings as well as completing assessments, CAA’s, care plans and assisting to ensure correct coding for the QMs as well as ensuring timeliness, accuracy and transmission of the department MDS’s. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Completion of the RAI Process from the MDS through the interdisciplinary completion of the plan of care. Initiates and monitors RAI process tracking, discharge/reentry, and Medicaid tracking forms through EHR. Follows up with staff when necessary to assure compliance to standards of documentation. Completes resident assessments, data collection, and interviews staff, residents, and family as necessary to assure good standard of practice and as instructed in the current version of RAI Manual and facility policies. Facilitates accurate determination of the Assessment Reference Date that accurately reflects the resident’s care needs and captures all resources utilized to ensure appropriate payment by Medicare/Medicaid and insurance programs. Provides management and coordination of interdisciplinary schedule for all MDS assessments and care plans as required by OBRA and PPS. Ensures that the Interdisciplinary team makes decisions for either completing or not completing additional MDS assessments based on clinical criteria as identified in the most recent version of the RAI User”s Manual. (Significant Change and Significant Correction). Participates in daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly clinical and quality assurance meetings. Candidates must have an Active, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse LPN or Registered Nurse RN licensure in the state of NC or a compact state.
