LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE

(LPN)

Part Time,Days Job Description:

Assists in direction of nursing services forunit/hall, in accordance with the Nursing Practice Act, and underthe supervision of a Registered Nurse. Delegates duties toprofessional nurses and non-professional nursing personnel andmonitoring work performance under the supervision of a RegisteredNurse. Observes patients for symptoms and/or reactions, includinggeneral physical and/or mental condition for signs, which may beindicative of adverse change. Assists with notifying attendingphysician of emergencies and death of patients in the unit.

Implement changes in orders as instructed or ordered by physicians.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

High schoolgraduate. Licensed Practical Nurse, graduated from an accreditedSchool of Nursing. Current, valid license from the North CarolinaBoard of Nursing and submit proof of license renewal every otheryear. Willing to work as charge nurses, and work as needed duringemergencies to assure adequate coverage. Ability to provide qualitynursing care to patients, follow doctors’ orders, and have agenuine interest in geriatric nursing. CPR certified yearly.
