Required Qualifications:
One year ofrecent experience as an LPN Valid LPN license in compliance withstate regulations Current BLS (AHA/ARC) or CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications:
Other certifications may be requireddepending on facility requirements
Summary:
A Licensed PracticalNurse (LPN) provides hands-on nursing care to residents and/orpatients, ensuring their medical and daily living needs are metwith compassion and efficiency. LPNs monitor patient conditions,administer medications, assist with treatments, and collaboratewith the healthcare team to promote residents’ overall health andwell-being.
Essential Work Functions:
Provide bedside care topatients and assist with personal hygiene and activities of dailyliving Assist with wound care, catheter management, and otherskilled nursing procedures Administer prescribed medications andtreatments and treatments following facility policies, and statenursing regulations Document care provided and resident statusaccurately and in a timely manner Collaborate with RNs, CNAs, andhealthcare providers to develop and follow individualized careplans Educate residents and families about medications, treatments,and disease management Support residents’ emotional well-being,providing compassionate care and meaningful interactions SuperviseCNAs and other support staff, delegating tasks appropriatelyRecognize and report changes in patient condition to RNs andhealthcare provider team Respond to emergencies and implementappropriate interventions within the LPN scope of practice Performother duties as assigned within the scope of practice
RequiredEssential Skills:
Critical thinking, service excellence and goodinterpersonal communication skills The ability to read, write, &communicate in the English language is required Ability toread/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions,and proficiency in PC skills Physical Abilities
- Remain in astationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs),pushing, pulling, bending Interpersonal Skills
- To workeffectively with a variety of personnel (professional andancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalismTechnical/Motor Skills
- Ability to grasp, fine manipulation,pushing/pulling and able to move about when assisting withprocedures and/or using department equipment. Mental Requirements
- Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public,customers, and meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able towork under close supervision occasionally as well as workingwithout assistance from other personnel.
